How to cancel Binge in Australia (2026 guide)

Binge is easy to cancel — no exit fees, no lock-in, done online in a couple of minutes. But it shares the same trap as every Aussie streaming service: where you cancel depends on how you're billed, and the app itself can't do it. If you subscribed through Telstra or an app store, cancelling on Binge's website does nothing.

Here's the fastest route, plus what to check so the charges actually stop.

Cancel Binge in 3 steps (browser — works for direct subscribers)

  1. Go to binge.com.au in a web browser and log in to My Account. (On your phone, use the browser — not the Binge app. The app has no cancel option.)
  2. Open Subscription and scroll to the bottom of the page. Click Cancel Subscription.
  3. Confirm and keep the confirmation. Binge will show you a confirmation screen ("Access continues until the end of the current billing period. The plan will not renew") — screenshot it or note the date. Binge also sends a confirmation email; keep that too.

That's it. No fees, no phone call, no retention maze.

First, check how you're billed

This is the step people skip, and it's why "I cancelled but got charged again" happens:

  1. Billed directly by Binge (card entered on binge.com.au): the steps above work — done.
  2. Billed through Telstra: if Binge came with a Telstra mobile or internet plan, the telco controls it. Cancel in the My Telstra app or the Telstra My Offers dashboard — cancelling on Binge's site won't stop a bundled charge.
  3. Billed through Apple or Google Play (signed up in the app on iPhone/Android TV): Binge's website can't cancel it. Cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions (Apple) or Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions (Google Play).
  4. Not sure? Check your bank statement. A card payment from "BINGE" is direct. "Telstra", "Apple" or "Google" means cancel there instead.

The 3 gotchas (read before you click)

  1. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date. You keep access until the end of your current billing period, but there's no pro-rata refund for the days left in the month. Cancelling the day before renewal means you keep everything you've paid for and pay nothing more. Your next billing date is on the Subscription page — check it first.

  2. A bundle isn't one subscription. If you're on a Binge + Netflix bundle (from $10.99/month for 12 months), cancelling Binge may not cancel the bundle — and the bundle price often runs on a 12-month term. Check whether you subscribed to the bundle through Foxtel Group or your telco, and cancel through whichever channel set it up. If you're mid-way through a discounted 12-month bundle, exiting early can mean losing the discount on what stays.

  3. Deleting the app does nothing. Removing Binge from your TV or phone doesn't touch the subscription — the charges keep coming until you cancel properly. The confirmation email is your only proof if something goes wrong later, so keep it.

What it costs while you're deciding

For reference, current Binge pricing in Australia:

PlanPriceAdsQuality
Basic with ads$10/monthYesHD
Standard$19/monthNoHD, 2 streams
Premium$22/monthNo4K UHD, 4 streams

A Standard sub runs $228 a year. If you're not watching much, dropping to Basic with ads saves $108 a year without cancelling — but if Binge is part of a broader cleanup, cancel and bank the lot.

After you cancel

  1. You keep access until the end of your current billing period — no instant cut-off, no partial refund.
  2. Your watchlist and profiles stay intact if you resubscribe later.
  3. Check your next statement to confirm the charge stopped. If it didn't, your confirmation email is the ammunition — Binge support reverses duplicate charges with it.

If cancelling Binge is part of a bigger cleanup — the average Australian runs 4-5 subscriptions and forgets about at least one — the 15-minute statement audit in our spending guide finds the rest of them.

The takeaway

Cancel Binge on the website (not the app), check your billing route first if it came via Telstra or an app store, time it just before your renewal date, and keep the confirmation email. Two minutes, no fees, no phone call.
